I started ADwD yesterday and within the first chapter of a main character got introduced to 3 new characters, and they're not names one can easily remember if you know who or what I'm talking about.

X's and Z's out the arse.

I believe I can honestly say I am in no way the board expert on any of the shows I watch and discuss on here.

I'd say you're pretty good on all the types of shows/movies we talk about.

Which scene is he in and which one is he?

He's really not an actor or an extra. Just one of the real soldiers drilling that they show at the beginning of that promo and in the movie. His platoon was picked for all of the background training scenes.

What's the name of the whorehouse? New Congress Club

What state is Prewitt from? Virginia?

What time was the attack? 6 am?

I don't know any of that other stuff and didn't think anyone else would know much about that movie.

Whatever movie my 5 year old watches 1000 times in a row. Finding Nemo, Toy Story 2, and How to Train your Dragon.

Kentucky

This is mentioned in the book as well as the excellent 1979 miniseries. I don't recall if it's mentioned in the film

7:53

This is one of my problems with the film -- it shows the sergeants eating breakfast in the kitchen when the attack begins. Isn't 7:53 late to be eating breakfast in the military, even on a Sunday morning?

The #1 song was Tennessee Ernie Ford's "16 Tons", which was written by guitar legend Merle Travis -- he appears in the film as a soldier singing "Reenlistment Blues"

Simpsons

I used to be ridiculous on The Simpsons knowledge. I quit watching a few years ago, so I would suck now compared to someone still going. But my old episodes knowledge is still sharp. From people knowing I love The Simpsons, they have given me the Monopoly game, some trivia talking Homer game, a card game, and a few other things

As far as a movie goes, I'd have to say I'm real good on The Big Lebowski. Can quote the entire movie

I thought about ways to classify my film/TV knowledge the other day:

I know I am the

James L. Brooks film expert
Albert Brooks film expert
M. Night Shyamalan film expert
Todd Solondz film expert

I am the premiere poster on Lars von Trier

I am probably the Charlie Kaufman film and screenwriting expert.

No one knows The Little Mermaid better than me.

I am pretty far up there in Woody Allen knowledge.

I know more about Independence Day and Jurassic Park than anyone else on this board.

No on knows Punch-drunk Love better than me. I'm pretty far up there on PTA knowledge.

I believe that you are not true Coen Bros fans unless your favorite Coen Bros film is A Serious Man. It's like their who raison d'etre in all their films in a nutshell.

For TV:

I am the Sealab 2021 expert.
I probably know more about Home Movies than anyone else.
I know more about the Mr. Show cast and influence in TV and Hollywood, past and present than anyone else.

There's not enough castys I can even give you

Good film, but it has nothing on some of their others.

I'd throw my hat into the ring for the original Star Wars trilogy and most anything Tarantino or Nolan.

It is such integral a story it is to their own lives and themes in film. This is why I know about their films more than you do.
