My favorite episode was Window of Opportunity (I think that is the name)
is that the parallel universe one?

It was more like a time loop with the same thing happening over and over and only Teal'c and Jack were the only ones that were in on it.
Jack kisses Sam without her remembering in one of the loops.
The whole episode was really humerous.

Imagine how awesome it would have been if it had stayed on Showtime.
Nude Scenes with these ladies?

I watched Window this am before work on Netflix
Oneal -"How far is Alaris anyways?"
Teal'c - "several billion miles"
Oneal - "thats gotta be a record"

Teal'c: "You are not the only one who most experience some displeasure." Then gets smoked by the door. Like it a few loops later when he tells him "perhaps next time I won't be so forgiving." Then after that slams the door back on the guy.

Jack O'Neill: Jaffa jokes? Let's hear one of those.
Teal'c: I will attempt to translate one, O'Neill. [Teal'c thinks]
Teal'c: A Serpent guard, a Horus guard and a Setesh guard meet on a neutral planet. It is a tense moment. The Serpent guard's eyes glow. The Horus guard's beak glistens. The Setesh guard's nose drips.

I started season 1 and encountered an episode so bad that I haven't been back to the series in about a year. There were other, more interesting shows on Netflix. Now that I've pretty much picked Instant Watch Sci-Fi's bones dry, I'll have to go back. The problem is that I'd rather not waste my time watching crappy standalone episodes - I've done that far too often. Hopefully geos.tv will help me to avoid those.
Are you kidding me? One of the reasons I loved this show was the continuity and pace of story. Yea, pumping out 20+ episodes a season, there is going to be some fluff, but I thought the show did a great job of keeping the arcs going. Not to mention some of the fluff episodes are some of the best episodes of the series. You don't like the show, that is fine, but it went 10 seasons for a reason.

Season one has three bad self-contained episodes in a row right near the beginning - "Emancipation", "The Broca Divide", and "First Commandment".
I didn't watch past those, nor did I say that I was judging the series based on a sample of five episodes. This was at a time when I was trying to watch about three different shows concurrently, and Stargate got phased out.

Well, to be frank, I don't really remember the first couple of episodes of the first season, aside from the pilot and maybe ep 2. And, I can understand putting it aside if you were more into other shows at the time, but I would still recommend it.

IMO the most annoying episodes are the obvious recap episodes where they still manage to put information important to the story
I fricking hate that.. if you're going to write recap episodes let me skip them

I plan to go back to it, but it's a massive undertaking. I've been rewatching the old seasons of Futurama lately because 22-minute episodes just fit my schedule a little better right now.

O'Neill, Two L's ......Haha
I'm glad to see everyone loves it as much as I do.
my last run through was prolly 4 years ago. I need to re watch badly.

I hear ya. I started next gen awhile back, but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. STNG has been a good show, but it is almost all alien of the week. 177, 45 min episodes. I'm down to about 60 eps or 1.5 seasons.

I've seen all of it and Atlantis twice as well. Favorite series of all time.

good until richard dean anderson became the general and then basically left the show with a few guest appearances.
Atlantis was actually good until the last 2 seasons. Ronan was the man.

The humor is what made this series work and the lack of humor (oh and aliens) the reason why SGU was such a huge steamer.
I like Atlantis just about as much as SG1 but it took longer to like. Rodney made Atlantis.
I wish ILL WILL on all involved with SGU for killing the star gate franchise.
More humor in one Teal'C eyebrow pop than in two seasons of SGU.
