LOTR movies are far superior to the books.

Star Wars. They actually put out a book before the movie and I happened to read it. The book sucked and I expected the movie to be a disaster given the ludicrous plot. Turns out the movie really didn't need much of a plot.

Forest Gump - liked the book, movie is better.

Usually the book is better though and I'll include No Country in that category though I like the movie a lot. Time constraints usually require that too much be left out of the movie.

High Fidelity. The movie captures it perfectly. I want even upset with the setting change from London to Chicago.

I would. I can't make myself finish reading Tolkien. Can't handle his writing style.

But IMO LOTR is the greatest movie in history
