Great article on Chud.com.

Sad, but true.

thats pretty funny

- Of course there's a CGI shark, but this CGI shark will be doing things no other CGI shark has ever done, including insane acrobatics. But more importantly this is a character story, so Andy Serkis will be hired to do the mocap for the CGI shark.

They should never do so. However, the question would be, who's gonna play Quint?? Would have to be a dark character.

"Here lies the body of MaryLee, died at the age of a'hundred and three, for fifteen years she kept her virginity, not a bad record for this vicinity."

Y'all know me..know how I earn a 'livin. I'll catch this bird for ya, but ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like goin' down to the pond and chasin' bluegills or tommycats. This shark...swallow you whole...little sinkin'....little tenderizin....down you go. Now we gotta do it quick. That'll bring back the tourists, that'll put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck alot more than three thousand bucks chief. I'll find him for three...but I'll catch him and kill him...for ten. You gotta make up your minds...wanna stay alive and ante up...wanna play it cheap be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no voulunteers, I don't want no mates, there's to many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head...the tail...the whole damn thing.

That's real fine gear you got there Hooper, but I Don't know what that bastard shark's gonna do with it....Might eat it I suppose.....Seen one eat a rocking chair one time. Hey Chiefy, next time you just ask me which line to pull.

front, bow...back, stern....if ya don't get it right squirt, I'll throw your arse out of one of the little round windows on the side

I love all the references to a backstory. People today can't seem to use their own imagination and need silly details to care more about a character.

It's almost as if people would be LOST without a backstory.

There'd be a CGI shark instead of a rubber one.

Nice. All the horror movie remakes especially talk about "focusing more on the killer's backstory." Who gives a frick? I don't need to sympathize with Jason Voorhees. I came to this movie to see people get slaughtered and maybe see a good sex scene. Not backstory. This article is great and points out just about everything wrong with mainstream movies today.

Zoe Saldana is Ellen Brody. As in the book, she has an affair with Matt Hooper

Did this really happen in the Book? Sounds a lot different than the movie.

If it were the first Jaws movie ever and there were not 100 rip off b movies of the original Jaws movie it might be of interest.

I agree with the author's assessment that Jaws is "a perfect movie." In fact, I consider it the greatest movie of all time.

Jaws is one of the great movies that never needs be remade. They screwed up a few classic movies with remakes such as Stagecoach, Psycho and Spartacus. (There are a few more.)

Here's some others that never need to be remade, just to name a few: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Casablanca, Bridge of River Kwai, Easy Rider, Cool Hand Luke, & To Kill A Mockingird

This is the saddest one to me:
quote:

- The last shot of the film is now a slow pullback to reveal a whole school of Great Whites, closing in on the sandy white beaches of Miami.

I hate how movies now feel like they have to have some sort of shocking, ominous ending. Just wrap up the story and be done.

they say
- Samuel L. Jackson stars as Quint

I say there is only one quint, and shaw could never be replaced. One of the best characters ever!
