The Golden Company is a mercenary band in Essos that Cersei is hiring with Iron Bank's money. It's who she sent Euron Greyjoy to go pick up and bring to Westeros.

Ok I get it now. Just discussion for the last GOT episodes. It was rumored that they were exploring making a series out of other ASOIAF story lines. I thought they might have picked the history of Golden Company and how it was formed as an option.

this is a story that the show omitted that pisses me off. If he was importance in the books, you would think they would HAVE to put him in the show. It almost seems a spoiler that he has no relevance on the outcome.

I think they cut him out and go straight to the chase of them kneeling to Jon.
It makes no sense in the book since either way it would be like an army of Confederate descendents coming to the aid of Grant's great great great great grandson just because he's Grant's lineage.
