Watched this as an impressionable young child back when it came to the US in the late 1960s. Loved it ever since (but of course those of you who are not fans of long intros would hate it, as it's roughly 3 minutes long and on almost every episode). Theme music is by Rod Grenier, who also wrote the iconic theme for Doctor Who.
While finding the above link, I came across this fan-made parody/homage, which is absolutely brilliant

Season 5 of the Wire's into is pretty bad. Bad cover of the song and stupid newspaper clips cut in.
I like the music and the visuals of the Bosch intro, and the Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan intros, but don't watch them every time.
