The original True Grit; although, the newer one wasn't bad.

Slumdog Millionaire.

I just could not get into this movie. I actually watched it twice because everyone loved it so much

I more or less just hated it more the second time. I usually like the movies that are well liked. Just not that one

SF- Star Wars ANH

War- Saving Private Ryan

Comedy- There's Something About Mary

Drama- A Few Good Men

Horror- The Exorcist

Basically, I like my action films to have a little bit of humor in them, but mostly limited to what you can call "nervous adrenaline", or "sense of irony" humor- the type that makes it a little more real to the viewer. If there is combat, I want realistic, not stylistic consequences to violent happenings.

I like dramas that have tension and make you think; I usually don't care for the "a random day in the life" type of films.

I don't care for slasher films unless there is a strong plot, I prefer psychological terror with a sense of helplessness, if it's "horror".

Also- not limited to any specific genre:
Clint Eastwood
Bruce Lee
Harrison Ford
hot babe in bathing suit or tight clothes
sword fighting
-if these elements are in a film, I'm likely to watch the film
