"Just say no"

Liam's friend, Roderick, told him that the Genre drug is a brand new "digital-pyschopharma hybrid" that "sends you straight to the silent era and back."

I liked season 1 but didn't watch 2 because it's suppose to be a headcase.

Is 3 a stand alone and I can start it?

No. It’s set up by the events at the end of season 2 which no one understands, really.

All he needs to know about season 2.

Bernard killed Delores. Due to the explosives in their frames, Bernard built a clone of Charlotte Hale without the tnt. He placed Delores's brain in Charlotte Clone. Charlores kills Charlotte. She next kills the Delos CEO and his exec team as well as Bernard. Delos retakes the island. However, Charlores leaves the island with the other Delos employees with five brains in her handbag.

Charlores builds another Delores at Arnold's old home and transfers her brain. Delores rebuilds Bernard. She tells him he will try to stop her. She wants to wipe out humanity, he wants to stop her. That is where season 2 ends.

The key to season 3 was Delos had its own super secret section of the park called The Forge. All of the hosts were also recording machines. All those wealthy people came to WW for decades and engaged in all forms of debauchery. Think of the data FB and Google collect on you but put on massive steroids with WW.

Delos collected data on all the guests. Such personal data is VERY valuable. However, Delores beat Delos to it and took it with her.

It was also revealed that Bill and Delos had started a project to transfer the human consciousness to a host, thus ensuring a form of immortality. James Delos (founder of Delos) wanted to live forever. When he died, his consciousness was placed into a host that looked like him. The problem is the consciousness/brain kept rejecting the new reality. It couldn't accept living in a new body and would eventually break down. THis went on for 40 years but the body was never accepted.

Thus the real goal of Delos was not running parks but massive data collection and immortality.

I'm getting tired of the hosts being completely unstoppable, it's nonstop, Delores is 1000 steps ahead of everyone, can take out anyone easily. It's getting boring.

That was the point made in a podcast I posted. MIB served that purpose and now he has been sidelined

Season 2 isn’t hard to understand, it’s just a chore. Season 3 is much more straight forward, to its benefit

Yup. Just wish the pace would move up a bit and they had spent more time exploring what that world was like although we don't want to go down the Caprica path.

That was a really good episode. Great music! It does seem like Delores is having too easy of a time getting past a supercomputer that knows everything.

The music all over was a great fit with the episode. I was really digging the ending song which is Fischerspooner - Emerge

Flight of the Valkyries
Iggy Pop's Nightclubbing
The Shining Theme
David Bowie's Space Oddity
Fischerspooner's Emerge

Probably my only gripe with this season. I don’t know what they expect the audience to feel when we see Dolores get shot or Maeve laying in a pool of her own blood with dramatic music, even though we know she will be back next episode. I love everything about this show and season but it lacks human emotion...oh wait

I agree ... but she is an “outlier” which is what these episodes have been about. Only way to perfect the system is remove the outliers.

Music was great. Action was great.

But the main point of the episode was very weak and poorly executed.

Supposedly giving everyone their own file is supposed to cause all kinds of chaos and rip the world apart. Um, we really don't see much of what is supposed to be a cataclysmic event. Some people fussing, turning over plants, breaking a window, and that's about it. One would think it would affect markets, economies, governments, and cause some friggin unrest. It's what I suspected. They can't adequately tell a linear story without using the timeline gimmicks.

What's the music for Lynch and his partner?
