It really is an incredible that they were able to make it so realistic 50 years ago. I had never realized there was a scene where a light crosses the sky when watching on TV. I looked it up and apparently it’s a tip of the cap to “close encounters” which would be Spielbergs next project. If you get a chance I recommend seeing it on the big screen.

Well, what I looked up said it was about close encounter, but I looked up again and I guess there’s a lot of debate on it. It may have even been a legit shooting star. Crazy

No. Original Jaws from 1975. They did it in 3D though.

Just read an interesting article about Alex Kintner (otherwise known as “Second Child Killed by Shark”).

Jeffrey Voorhees is the actor's name. He is now 62and says he's making good money on the fan convention circuit.

quote:

Voorhees says he gets paid $10,000 per convention appearance. And that's not the only way he continues to profit from his childhood role, either. On his website, Voorhees sells an assortment of Jaws-themed memorabilia including inflatable life rafts with a shark bite mark ($289), posters ($35) and t-shirts ($45 to $70).

Damn. I need a bit part in a hit movie.

I saw it last weekend.

When it came out I was too little and no matter how much I begged, my parents refused to take me to see it in the theater.

So I had to wait until it came in HBO to see it.

It’s one of my favorites so watching it on the big screen was fantastic.

I saw it in 3-D about five years ago when they did a short re-release of it. Did not care for the 3-D version that much. Saw it last week on an IMAX screen here in Birmingham. Fantastic rewatch. first time on the big screen for the regular version. Interesting to see the last 15 minutes with so much of the shark in the footage. Did a really good job for the tech at the time. Great film. Still holds up well.

The shooting star was real. It is the greatest adlib in movie history.
