I've seen it before at home, but will be doing the theater experience Wednesday. Did they have any supplemental material in the presentation before or after?

Top 5 all time film. I like it better than Casablanca. It's Bogey's best movie.

I like it a little better than Casablanca as well, but I guess it has more to do with the fact that I saw it first.

IMDB rates it quite low on Bogart's list, surprisingly. 7.8

Casablanca 8.5
Treasure of Sierra Madre 8.2
Big Sleep 8.0
Maltese Falcon 8.0
etc...

I would argue the greatest "date" movie ever made.

It's a perfect allegory for marriage.

ending was a little weak
I love it. The Queen saves the day.

The VERY ending, with them just swimming off and singing, is not as masterful as I'd like, but it was good.

That says more about IMDB that it says about those movies.

If you want to watch a Bogart movie with great dialogue and a bit more witty repartee, check out "The Maltese Falcon".

Agreed. Love him in that.

I love Bogart in pretty much everything he was in.

I'd personally put Casablanca over African Queen for my personal taste, but they are both great movies.

The cynic in me always kinda wondered if ole Charlie would have been able to stay sober long term.

Great movie but that Leech scene is seared in my memory like the opening of Jaws.

After seeing the movie, my older brothers were teaching me how to water ski. They were pulling the ski-rope towards me in the water when they saw me flailing about like a cat in a bath tub. There was a leech on my hand. I assumed they traveled in swarms. I fully expected to get out of the water and to be covered in them like Bogie.

Thanks for sharing. Just looked and it's showing Wed. at Tinseltown in West Monroe too.

Saw it at a drive in in a 63 Ford Falcon station wagon with my mom, dad and two brothers. Loved it then, and still love it.

The Falcon was probably brand new. My dad overhauled that straight six engine in the back yard a couple of times. My brother took that car to Baton Rouge when he was a freshman in 1974.

Glad there was no sex scene. No way my parents would have stayed for that.
