Might be my most quoted movie, Austin Powers is a close second
Seriously, the early/mid 90s all the way through 2010 were an amazing time for comedy movies. From Tommy Boy to Step Brothers and everything in between.
Not sure if the studios pandering to the SJWs is what killed it or not, but it's a safe bet that it contributed somewhat.

After rewatching it I never noticed how Vince Vaughn is basically throwing 100 MPH the whole movie. Almost every scene he just kills it. Most everyone is funny but I think VV clearly wins the movie.
Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams actually drag down the whole movie. Still a great flick on the strength of Vaughn, Fischer, and literally the entire supporting cast.

I agree with this but still enjoy their role as a change of pace and actually giving the plot someone to sort of root for and ground the movie. Obviously the plot ultimately revolves around them which is what allows Vince Vaughn to bring the comedic heat he does and probably everybody else too.
When he’s tied to the bed his facial expressions and straight up begging Tod to hide in the closet are pure gold.

Do you think you could maybe throw it so Claire could intercept it?
I was all state. I'll put the damned ball wherever I want to. I'll make it rain out here.

I think you sort of need a relative straight man in a comedy. Wilson and McAdams do that in Wedding Crashers.
If everyone is out there all the time, a movie can become a caricature of itself fast. Having them be relatively normal helps keep things in check and let the side characters shine.

I’ve never thought of it like that, but great point.

The football scene always cracks me up. Bradley Cooper getting warmed up before the game is great.
Also, "Mom! Meatloaf!...I never know what she's doing back there"

I never noticed this before but when it’s a wide shot right as they get off the boat you can see Cooper laying basically on his neck with his legs straight up doing bicycle motions with his leg. Hilarious and perfect for his character.

Just noticed that Tod is in Jeremys wedding party at the end. That’s a great subtle gag.
