My son watches it all the time and I watched it for the first time with him and I enjoyed it. I like the late 80s Texas vibe, dad drinking a beer every episode, and George Jr is cool!

a great example of perfect casting. The kid playing young sheldon is spot on.

The blonde went on to play Elsa in 1883.

Really good show and not all about laughs, some serious relationship type issues and brings back a lot of nostalgia

Plus the dad death will be really sad whenever they get to it

Window is closing fast though, the kid cast is aging fast

This is a really sweet show. I love it. Plus, MeeMaw is hilarious; it's great to see Annie Potts - one of the original Designing Women - have career longevity.

Fun Fact: Sheldon's mom on Young Sheldon is the real life daughter of Laurie Metcalf (Sheldon's mom on BBT).

Yeah, the kid playing Sheldon is too robotic in the recent season. Looks forced.

Always enjoyed it. I’m really just waiting for the George storyline to come to an end. Gonna be tough.

George Jr. is a little 80s HS pimp. Good casting and the kids act/look age appropriate.

I am a big fan and pleasantly surprised. I like it better than BBT.

He still has to cheat.

Then he still has to have a heart attack.

If they let him die during the fallout, that is going to be a tough season.

I'm expecting some sort of twist on this.

The George on Young Sheldon is much more likable than how he was described in the BBT...not really a drunk as described, just a good ol' boy who like to drink beer while watching sports on the TV, etc.

And IMO George is more likable than Mary in YS.

I think the writers are going to make so that it is Mary that Sheldon catches in the act and George dies shortly thereafter, and Young Sheldon is so traumatized that he represses/alters the memory so it he believes that it was George and not Mary that cheated since Mary is still alive.

I love the show.

One thing that sticks out to me is during the Big Bang Theory, I always got the feeling that Sheldon's dad was a POS.

This show really paints him in a different light. Sure, he isn't perfect, but I think he's a good dad that loves his family.

I really enjoy the show and they capture the time period well. The George Sr on the show is great, normal dude I imagine most of us would be friends with. I feel like I went to high school with Jr!

I think that's where it's trending, but unless they pull something unexpected.

And by cheat...I'm going to guess they were caught in a "kiss".

Not really putting pipe to lawn. Sheldon likely over dramatizes it in BBT.

The show does a great job depicting a working class household in 80s middle America.

I know its not a popular theme, but its good to see a show with no true villain.

Show is just a well done family show.

I think Mary cheats first, but Sheldon never learns of it. George follows her lead.

Ultimately, we need an acknowledgement from present day Sheldon that his dad really was doing his best, and that he misrepresents George to his friends as a coping mechanism.
