Great show. My mom watched it a lot. Maybe I'll watch a few in her memory.

It's one of those shows that you don't bring up in conversation because you think you're the only who's watched it.

I was at an end of semester dinner one time when we had to ask the server to bring more glasses and the professor jokes that he should have brought his own glassware like Hycinth Bucket. I did a double take and considered whether to admit that I watched.

I feel like a lot of us can empathize with Richard on occasion.

Onslo is awesome, but in an understated way, Richard is the best character on the show. The guy who plays him pulls the "after 25 years of marriage I have accepted that this is my life now" act off perfectly.

My wife says "mind the pedestrian" and "mind the bicyclist" all the time. And I do the same.

Also if she bumps into me in the kitchen I say "please remove yourself from my person"

Richard is awesome. I love that time when he breaks and tells her to shutup.
