Caught it on HBO premiere Saturday night. Pretty damn good movie. Not as good as Wolf of Wall Street, but same kind of movie. Jonah Hill and Bradley Cooper were great. I loved when the guy told Efraim that IBM stood for International Buisness Machine and Efraim said get the frick out.

But, the best part was Ana De Armas. Wow. I may have a new favorite actress. She's bad.

Lord of War meets Wolf of Wall Street meets Blow.

I thought it was kind of lacking. Crazy to think Diveroli is only 31 now. Those contracts were 10 years ago.

Didn't like it at all. Hard to get into the movie when none of the characters are likeable. Jonah Hill was AWFUL.

This is kinda why I haven't seen it. I like Lord of War a lot and felt no need for another arms dealer movie. Wolf of Wall Street was a bore for me.

Weird. I thought he was fine. Played a solid sociopath.

If you liked her in War Dogs you should catch her in Knock Knock and Hands of Stone.

If you like her, definitely suffer through Keanu in Knock Knock. She'll make it worth your while.

I thought Jonah Hill was good. It was just a really two dimensional movie. I think a much better movie could have been made out of the story.

Just caught this on HBO. Loved it. Thought everyone played their part well.

What a soundtrack too.

I see the comparisons to Lord of War. Not so much Wolf of Wall Street. The movie stands up by itself IMO. Fun watch.

I was disappointed. The trailer presented a much different type of movie to me. It was slow to get going and was bored at some points. Most entertaining scenes were on trailer. Lord of War was a MUCH better movie on the gun running topic

I had no idea that stuff (arms business) was going on. I thought the movie, based on the director, would be another over-the-top comedy similar to the Hangover series. In reality some of the stuff was downplayed according to the real life characters. The Jonah Hill character is a sociopath.

I thought it was pretty lame when I saw it in theaters. Haven’t rewatched but remembered thinking that they basically just drew inside the lines of what other better film makers made about this topic and this type of vibe. Nothing real unique to say and no real standout performances

ETA didn’t realize this was a bump and I gave my thoughts on it originally

I stand by it although usually I enjoy films that don’t really give you a good guy to root for, so maybe my taste have changed a bit and I should rewatch.

I saw it years ago but don’t remember it too well. Lord of War has been referenced here and I have seen it many times. Awesome movie.
