Watching the Branagh versión (not the real one).
They work hard to give a Scandinavian ambience, but it´s got that ´Merrican thang going on (I´d say English, but really, it´s akin to an American trying to be international).
What do yáll think (as in quality level)?

Beautifully shot and very, very well done, I think. It's definitely more British as Brit TV has grown up a lot. I prefer this to to the actual Swedish version; Kenneth Branagh is superb.

Huh?
George Gently is pretty good, too, as well as Inspector Lewis.

yep. Guv.
The one set in Oxford, where the inspector is named Hathaway, and I can´t recall for the life of me his boss´s name (the forensic pathologist calls him Robbie) is just as good.
ETA Inspector Lewis
brilliant.

Inspector Lewis, Inspector Morse, Foyle's War....
All good.
All good.

Hathaway's deadpan delivery is great. One bit I remember the most is when their chief is chewing them out for something:
"Stop looking so smug."
Hathaway: "I'm not smug. It's the natural look of my unfortunate face."
I've been nothing but impressed with Masterpiece Mystery shows.

The UK Wallander just didn't capture my attention.
