I just finished watching Waco on Netflix and Ive never been angrier in my life.
Mother frick the FBI, the ATF and the rest of the bullshite bureaucracy. May they all die in a fire similar to the ones they murdered 76 American citizens, including 25 children, in.

I'm interested in people just now realizing what happened at Waco. Were yall not alive to remember it, or have you just never looked into it.
As with the OJ chase, even seeing that stuff on TV as a kid, the image of the Branch Dividian compound being burned to the ground is engrained in my mind.
The FBI killed them... It's simple. I thought everyone knew that. They were a weirdo cult, but they werent hurting anyone.
As with the Killings of Bonnie and Clyde, the authorities basically murdered all those people and got away with it.

No way that many should have died but maybe the deaths of those children are on their brainwashed parents hands. A lawful authority with a legal warrant begged them for almost two months to leave the compound. Leave and answer to authorities like they saw other Davidians do, or stay and risk you and your childrens lives for Koresh. They chose poorly.
Their own county sheriff asked the ATF to investigate federal gun violations after a UPS driver reported delivering large shipments of gun parts, ammo, grenades and chemicals to the compound. Several Branch Davidians told authorities before the raid (and others testified to this after) that Koresh considered himself the Lamb of God and that those weapons were for an apocalyptic battle. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that this was going on in my community.
Same county sheriff felt that if he tried to arrest Koresh in that compound, he would have not walked out alive. He said "One day there had to be a confrontation with them, they were building for this". Yeah, obviously.
I also have a hard time to believing that the first shots fired were federal agents firing on dogs like the show depicts. Reporters were there and eye witnesses said the first shots came from inside the compound. What do think would happen if you fired at the Feds from a freakin window? Spoiler: You'd die.
But sure, they didn't do nothin' to nobody.

Doesn’t change the fact that government knowingly and willingly burned the compound to the ground with children inside. But I guess if the govt kills the children first, ol Vern can’t abuse them.

you need to watch the documentary Waco: Rules of engagement. there is testimony from the mclennan county sheriff, video footage, FLIR footage, audio from the 911 calls and coverage of the joint sub committee hearings that contradict most of what you posted.

I just finished this tonight also. I was too young in ‘93 to remember details of this other than the Branch Davidians was that cult in Waco where they killed themselves. I didnt know the whole story and I’ve been doing a bit of reading on it too. Don’t get me wrong, the Branch Davidians were a crazy cult and they did have a shite ton of weapons that definitely makes you raise your eyebrows but the way the ATF and FBI handled the whole ordeal is a master class on how not to handle situations like this. I’m not giving the cult a pass but law enforcement has to do better than what they did there.

Koresh was a pedophile and a rapist. The Cult enabled and protected him. It needed to be stopped. The raid was a huge failure. That happens and it was a risk. But they couldn't just do nothing..

Neither is the domain of the ATF. And it certainly doesn’t require choppers with armed soldiers in them, tanks, and a heavily-armed and well-trained, elite sweep-and-clear battalion.
I also laugh at this bullshite attempt to “think of the children” when said army assaulted them with an arsenal of weapons and ultimately murdered the remaining children by ramming tanks into the buildings they were in, shot at them and dumped tear gas on them. You do that in a war, it’s a war crime.
But, muh children. LOL
