Michael had terrible judgement, but I don't think he was necessarily evil

We've had this debate too, he murders several people, including old family friends, in some cases where that was not necessarily warranted. I know, its the ethos of that world, but that world is corrupt and evil imo. Anyway, Michael Corleone is certainly not a villian, as the story is about him. No matter what we think of his actions (evil or not) he is the protagonist of the story and not the villian.

2) Hannibal Lecter (How has no one mentioned him?)

Because he's not the villian

The villian is the antagonist, not all evil characters are villians and not all protagonists are good.

I completely agree with this. In Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, Lector is not the villain. He helps the protagonist and "spoiler" in Hannibal, he actually saves her life and spares her hand by cutting off his own thumb. Not villain shite right there.

But in Red Dragon, he shares the honor with the Dragon.

Was gonna say Max Cady, to chime in, but someone already covered me.
