From the writing, the directing, the cinematography, the soundtrack, the performances—oh, the performances—and the themes, it is an amazing piece of art. I’m not sure why it didn’t get the praise it deserved—maybe it was some Tom Cruise backlash. But they were wrong. It is great.

Great movie. Understandable though that some werent into it or have never taken the time to see it. It's one of those movies that slip through the cracks.

Penelope Cruz or Cameron Diaz?

“There’s nothing bigger than the little things”

That quote means so much in regards to valuing time with friends and family. Great film

It would've been better without the tech support exposition at the end IMO.

Not to correct you like a dick or anything, but I think he actually says” The little things. There’s nothing bigger, is there?”

Another great line(and lesson) is “The sweet is never as sweet without the sour.”

My only problem with the movie is that I think he should have stayed with Sophia in the Lucid Dream. Who cares if it’s not “real?” Wtf is “real” anyway? We all could be something’s chess pieces plugged into the matrix. Why not choose your heaven? I think it would have been more powerful(and romantic) if he would have stayed. Oh well...

For those that think Cruise can't act, his scenes with the mask both in public and with the Dr (Kurt Russell) were simply great acting

The line I remember most from that movie - "My father wrote about this in his book. Chapter 1...Page 1...Paragraph 1: What is the answer to 99 out of 100 questions? Money."

One of my favorite Cruise movies and don’t forget he had good chemistry with Diaz in another movie whose name escapes me at the moment .... he was a spy, she was a mechanic fixing up an old car for her dad, it all started in an airport. Wish I could remember the name but it was a fun movie. Like two names something and something.

Anyway, yeah, I thought vanilla sky was exception and every actor involved played their part to the hilt. Perfectly cast and directed.

Knight and Day ... bingo! Got it.

I wouldn't go so far as "fantastic" but I definitely think it has aged well. And if you go by historical reviews it would be considered underrated.

Vanilla Sky was the perfect movie at the perfect time for me. Love David's arch throughout the film. It felt like a trilogy regarding the character. Penelope Cruz. Sigur Ros. Man this movie was incredible. One of my favorites.

I’ll take peak Cameron Diaz over anybody but Penelope Cruz has aged much better.

One of my favorite movies of all time. I loved the twist at the end. It made perfect sense after you knew the whole story. It help that I am interested in real life Life Extension theories and stuff. Oh and Julia Gianni for me, but by a small margin.

Completely agree.

It’s a spellbinding piece of cinema and very rewatchable imo.

And not to hijack but big props to the other mention of Knight and Day in this thread. One of my guilty pleasures, Cruise is hilarious in that one
