I get the sentiment but looking at what Scooby Doo is supposed to be , everything that wasn’t Velma, I don’t hate the idea. Like so much else, if done right, there’s no reason why today’s kids can’t get a version that holds true to the original concept.
Instead of an abandoned amusement park maybe a vacant mall with a movie theatre.
Unfortunately current day Hollywood doesn’t understand stuff from the before times.

Hagen and Fortson both had minor roles on The Pitt.
I don't particular remember Hagen's character, but Fortson was the teen in S1 that was pregnant and the mom did not want her to have an abortion.
She also played Cassie Lang in Ant-Man, I believe the first two films.

It's decent casting but yes their Fred lacks a certain gravitas.

Fred looks to be the weakest casting of the 4, and probably not even by that much.
If McKenna Grace can pass for Egon’s granddaughter, then this guy might be better than Freddie Prinze Jr.

Cavill is in his 40’s. Aren’t the Scoobies supposed to be in HS? Late teens, early 20’s.
The kid they cast for Fred looks like he’s 15 or 16 tops, in that photo.
