Saw this film the other day. Absolute sledgehammer of a film. I don’t know what it is about this movie that keeps me so fixated on it, but it has something to do with the way Greengrass keeps everything “simplified” so we, the audience, can understand what’s going on.
95% of the film focuses solely on the passengers and hijackers. In the airport scene, you literally are only able to see the hijackers and passengers. Everyone else is blurred or out of focus. You don’t even notice any of the extras in the background because the camera angles make it to where only the main characters are in focus.
The ending is so well done because the film manages to create a build-up of tension in the minutes leading up to the passenger revolt, that it feels like an immediate release of energy as soon as Glick gets up from his seat and starts the charge.
Why doesn’t this film get talked about more on a national scale? It’s a masterpiece and hugely underrated.

If it wasn’t all a known lie now, I think it would’ve aged better.

There’s video footage of the wreckage right after it crashed. Lol

Speculation that it was shot down with a missile from our military than the passengers fighting the terrorists.

Post it here. Post the plane wreckage of the Pentagon and building 7, too.

Those are some brave people . They didn’t let the terrorists win. Which was their fear all along was that word would get out and resistance would rise up
It’s all speculative as to how it went down inside the airplane.. the scuffle in the cockpit and how animalistic that was, with the passengers throwing plates and silverware and for the terrorist pilot to invert the plane going 500 mph… I can’t imagine what that was like,

The few f-16’s even in the air then were creating a flight Path over nyc and DC to protect their airspace . I don’t think any other planes were remotely close to take out 93. Now had it gotten to DC, they would’ve likely shot it down , as Cheney had authorized
It really is wild at how disjointed all the agencies were and how off the communication was .. they were still looking for flight 11 on their radar 30 minutes after it had struck the WTC tower. They had no clue where anything was.

It’s incredible, everyone was silent leaving the theaters I’ll never forget.
However, like Passion of the Christ, it’s not necessarily a movie you put on but once every 5 years. It pisses you off, it makes you sad, it makes you feel like a coward, you run the gamut of emotions watching it due to the weight of the material.
It’s not something anyone wants to watch that often.
That said, it’s been a few years for me. Maybe I’ll watch it next year for 9/11.

Ok so you think it was shot down…
The nearest F16 fighter jets were hundreds of miles away when U93 crashed. They didn’t even have any missiles or weapons on them. This was confirmed during an ABC interview by the two pilots who were called up to take U93 down.

Another great film as well. Have they started filming yet for the sequel?

I went and checked out the memorial outside of Pittsburgh when I was working there… Very well done and designed. Great film and really immersive.
I don’t remember hearing the voice recording at the museum and noticing anything about a plane, shooting them down. It sure sounded like a group of people desperately trying to take over the cockpit ….. and they did have a bunch of video footage from the local Pennsylvania news station just after the crash on in the museum.

Watched it in the theater when it first came out. Packed house and not a dry eye.

The saddest part is those phone conversations .. the earlier hijacked flights the passengers didn’t know they weren’t gonna go back to the airport as part of a hostage situation.. by flight 93.. everyone knew it would be their last conversations with their loved ones..

I went on a 9/11 reading kick before the anniversary this year
I did an interesting trilogy
1) the looming tower- about bin Laden and the formation of Al qaeda
2) perfect soldiers- the background of the hijacker’s and what led them to 9/11
3) fall and rise- the story of 9/11.
Really recommend fall and rise.. I cried at a few points as it recounts the day. Man it was tough.
