I like John Turturro

Barton Fink was his only lead that I can remember

ETA: but his new Heineken commercials are annoying

Michael Parks. His dual role performance in Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 as the sheriff and the old pimp were just about the finest performances I have seen in a film. And the guy in Vol. 2 who tells Bud that he's as useful as an a-hole right here(pointing to elbow) was also brilliant and one of my faves.

Ian Holm. He played the priest in The Fifth Element. Also great in The Madness of King George as well as countless others.

Chris Cooper won an Oscar...no longer underrated.

A few I'd go with would be:

Jennifer Ehle
Joe Morton

Philip Seymour Hoffman - I know he is up for an oscar but I still think his other work is under-appreciated.

GREAT actor, but he's definitely a lead.

Whoever the guy is that plays the a-hole Dr. on Scrubs. First thing I ever saw him in was Platoon but I like his work.

I agree with John C. McGinley. I hope his career extends past that of Scrubs.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti are the supporting actor success stories. they have gone on to lead roles.
