Documentary short about the origins of the Galaxy's most infamous bounty hunter, from his inception prior to Empire Strikes Back, through the prequel trilogy, and re-emergence in The Mandalorian/ The Book of Boba Fett.

For those of you who didn't have the benefit to grow up transfixed by the mystery swirling around this character and wonder why Gen Xers lost their minds when he returned in Mando S2, hopefully this will serve to give you some history beyond his 6:30 minutes of screen time in ESB and ROTJ.

I had the benefit of growing up during this period, but I didn't give a rat's arse about him because he got killed in ROTJ.

Fett got a raw deal in Jedi and we all knew it. Slapstick Three Stooges horse shite has no business in SW.

He was a kinda overrated character even before Star Wars sucked. He's essentially a non entity in both ESB and ROTJ

Same here. I always thought that he was the best action figure but the movie character was pretty irrelevant.

It wasn't about what we see of Fett on screen. It's the mysterious gunslinger who has infinite stories that hadn't been told yet.

He and Vader had an obvious past.

He gave zero fricks.

It was about how cool the toy was.

man I grew up in the late 70s and was obsessed with Star Wars. The only reason I knew anything about boba fett (other than he was a minor character that got eaten by a worm) was because of the toy

The cult of boba fett was entirely fan-driven and I’m sure this was a surprise to the filmmakers

This was absolutely the case, and is confirmed by many of the Lucasfilm people who had a hand in creating character

I mean, I assume they spent a lot of time designing a bad arse looking character only to him off unceremoniously.

They did literally the same thing with Darth Maul in Episode 1.

His armor was to be a new special forces Stormtroopers unit about 100 strong, but they scaled back to just the one, due to budget concerns for Empire.
