The special effects in the original will be better than the reboot.

Hollywood has zero, absolutely zero, creativity. Choices today are:

- comic book movie; or
- reboot

They will only screw up an awesome movie. You can't make it any better.

Again, Movie Board minority, but I hated this movie. The acting was terrible, action was slow, and the special effects were awful. The premise of the story is awesome and I felt like they missed badly. Really hope the reboot is better.

What is there to reboot?

No one remembers the names of the characters at all, & 2 of the 3 actors who played the most memorable characters are dead.

Movie studios must have polled & found out that the term “reboot” is better than “remake”

Terrible Idea. Twister was great though. Just rewatched recently.

It was a unique summer movie idea, made heroes of weathermen and storm chasers.

I wish we could have more summer movies like this.

The special effects were groundbreaking for its time.

That's really why it was such a huge hit because yeah frankly the acting was cheeseball...

But in no way was the action slow. That's why it's corny, it's implausible scenario after implausible scenario.

Twister came out in 1996.

Now go watch The Core (2003)

And see Hollywood made a B-movie 7 years after Twister.

Twister isn't some masterpiece but for it's time it was. Sure beats the hell out of The Core, Volcano, Dante's Peak and 2012.

It's ridiculous but that was the fun of it. And it never felt like a B-movie like The Core or Dante's Peak, etc.

I'm not even sure what they could do different that would make it any better. It's not an Oscar worthy movie but what else can you do?

Only beaten out by Independence Day. Twister was a monster upon release.

I was 15 and it was my first summer working as a lifeguard making 4.50 an hour. I'd go to the movies like every week after working on Saturday. Great summer for movies and having your first real summer job.

Yea twister should not have a sequel.

The story of trying to get Dorothy into the Tornado is done, nothing else they can do.

Whoa now, let’s not get crazy. I would put Dante’s Peak right up there with Twister. Harry was right.

The theory here is that the name is an established brand and will thus bring in more money. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. It’s a good bet that the protagonists will all be female.
