Friends,

We have made it! We are beyond the halfway mark between last Christmas and this Christmas. For any numerically fixated people, that day was June 24, so we are only five months from Christmas, and only four months from Advent! I am beyond excited, and I know many of you share in this joy.

I know some of you celebrate Christmas in July by listening to your favorite Christmas music and watching some great Christmas movies. As such, I wanted to share with you TulaneLSU's Top 10 movies based on Charles Dickens incomparable A Christmas Carol:

10. Mister Magoo's A Christmas Carol (1962)

9. An American Christmas Carol (1979)

8. Scrooged (1988)

7. The Stingiest Man in Town (1978)

5. Mickey's Christmas Carol 1983

P.S. Someone will probably bring up the Muppets or the Jim Carrey versions. These are horrifically bad productions, so they make no such list of mine. Marc Hamill's version almost made the list.

Uh what?

The songs are catchy as heck and Caine is a great Scrooge. Easily Top 5.

I’m surprised you didn’t include the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim. It’s tops on my list.

The BEST version imo. Sim nails the character, however the George C Scott portrayal is firmly my second favorite.
