The extra features on the special edition DVD say the movie initially was going to get an X rating because of the scene where Patricia kills Gandolfini.
The ratings senior citizens board said it was too primal and obscene for a woman.
So the movie shortened the moment where Patricia after she blasts away, hits Gandolfini with the shotgun crying out and shaking it above her head.

Probably because it came out so close to Pulp Fiction, which is much more quotable.
