I totally and completely agree with you...too drunk to writ it all put but this episode is the perfect explanation for why this sucks. Unless they have apocalypse now in store for the final four it's a toilet ride.

what's funny is that this show is called "true detective" and the initial culprit was discovered b/c his prostitute pawned one of the victim's items
basically would have been solved with a scouring of pawn shops alone. no real detectives needed, let alone "true" detectives

The response to this season is and was completely predictable. No matter what Pizzolatto and HBO put on the air.
Gunfight was over the top in its staging, but I suspect there's far more to it than just the gunfight. It was a set up (not completely sure by who), but it only achieved part of its objective. And from the previews, it may not have achieved that (i.e., pinning a false murder rap on the Mexican dude to cover up the real murderer).

Does anyone who read the books/ has an IQ over 100 actually think GoT was worth a shite this season?

What you said is only the bare surface of the shitastick writing...I thought the dialogue was bad until tonight...now it's everthing....Mathew ain't walking through that door.

oh so we have another shootout that leads to the wrong suspect getting blamed (and killed, never to tell his tale)?
and a little time later, they get the gang back together to find the real bad guy?
where have i seen this before?

it had its moments but it had its moments
the production choices in shaping the story and now being left to their own vices is probably going to derail that show

Yeah we get that...but are the characters that dumb to risk their asses in a shootout when they are outgunned? Especially Farrell when he knows the gig is up??

Huh?
I don't give a shite if it's an unoriginal plot point but, honestly, but you really didn't pick up right away that the pawn shop "clue" and the shootout was setting up the cops and covering tracks?
To me, this is lightweight, summer entertainment. I watch it for what it is.

The plot is so bad..I'm so glad Rachel has an arse to die for

One, nobody expected a fricking army. Two, these three cops have little or no choice in the matter, given their respective situations. They're on a shite detail.

The only good news is we will get some more Rick springfield!
Dr. Pritlor has been mentioned in abundance...he has been the best 1 minute of this show....I wish I could have Jesse's girl!

The first mistake was setting the show in Los Angeles. I was under the impression that this season would be taking place in rural California. LA is overdone.
This has nothing to do with why the show sucks

OkCF is in debt to VV last week and he's ready to bolt cause he has nothing to live for...now he's running cover for a random cop he don't know in a shootout with mexicans.

that was obvious when they ID'd the guy so simply
it's just the EXACT same pattern as season 1. for all of this "don't judge this based off of season 1" talk, season 2 is relying on the same plot and similar (attempts, at least) elevated dialogue

No contradiction at all. Cops typically are loyal to other cops in a pinch.
Jeezus, you guys just need to stop watching if the show bothers you that much.
