Should be run unarmed into the gun battle between the bikers, ghetto, and cops? Or follow what the guy with the gun tells him to do?
I can get on board with that

Also Ginger did try to escape at one point [While Rust was pistol whipping two guys].

agreed. Up till now the show has been flawless, but it went off the rails this episode IMO. The ghetto scene was a little too far reaching.
That last scene was some of the funnest television to watch. It's no more far reaching than any of the other parts of this show. It was just more action and the pacing picked up.

How is it we saw a dozen or so TPOS on the drive into the hood, but MM didn't encounter a single one in the block he had to walk to get to the stash house?
He was dropped off in an unpopulated area behind the house. It's not like the projects is packed wall to wall.
quote:
How the hell does Marty know where Rust is? Does Marty have an intimate knowledge of Beaumont's hood(s)and city streets?
Well Rust called him and told him what corner to meet him on.
quote:
How does Rust put half of a # of shite up his nose and yet maintain his composure throughout the "job"?
Coke straightens you out, man. It was all uppers.
quote:
How did 2 LSP troopers stroll into Beaumont and kidnap a drug slinging biker without anyone asking WTF? (I realize this one might get answered in future episodes)
I'm sure it will get answered, but his other 2 biker boys just got got while trying to rob a stash hash in the projects. I'm sure the biker gang doesn't think Ginger just stolled out untouched.

Not enough bad stuff here to make me lose respect for the show or not still call it superb, but this sequence was just way too far out there.
It was just a different tone than the first 3 episodes. It was still a lot of fun to watch.

Yeah he ran away, then came back to Rust because guys were everyhwere.

Rewatching the last scene, Rust & Ginger were somewhat lucky to escape the stash house. The other crew member who ran out after them took a baseball bat & bullet to the head.

Yep. And there goes my theory on what causes the falling out between Marty and Rust.
The falling out will likely happen due to Marty taking the company line and pinning the murders on Ledoux.

I don't know.. We know they make an arrest in 95.. And the falling out isn't until 2002.

-What year did Rustin go "off the grid?"
-When does Marty start his Security company?
-Did ya'll watch the preview for Ep. 5 I posted? It is obvious the two current detectives are targeting Rustin for the 2012 crime.

Okay Marty knew Rust's handle was "Crash". Ginger calls Rust "Crash" in the ghetto house in front of everyone. Rust could be made at the scene since people in LE know who Crash is.

Marty & Rust haven't spoken in 7 years I believe.
It's clear that the two detectives find Rust's story about his father fishy. Marty doesn't really answer the questions they ask about the entire situation.

Yeah it's also seems pretty clear that Marty has a lot of respct for Rust in modern day. So I'm not sure the "falling out" will be that big of a thing.

Rust stated he called his old handler to check on things. I assume this to be a DEA guy? Obviously that person may have an idea.

Anyone confused by Ginger sticking with Rust and not trying to flee. Him scaling the fence seemed out of place. Yes, he knew Rust was probably going to keep him alive, but Ginger acting logically while coked up and pistol-whipped seemed off. Beyond that, best hour of TV in a long time.
Thought this too, but what are your options. You could try to run and get shot by MM or try to run and get taken apart by the Hood. I think he just wanted to get the hell out of the Ghetto.

Plus, people in the ghetto don't talk to police.

Yup. Only thing that bugged me about the episode. And why rust didn't call him on it before hand
First off he never had time to step away and call. Second the plan was to do the job and get out and then get the info he needed. He saw the shitty plan going south and acted on instinct. I'm pretty sure a gun fight in hood was not how he envisioned it.

Maybe the best action sequence in the history of TV. You literally can't tell what's going to happen next.

Someone on reddit mapped out Rust's path through the ghetto.
