He is painting with broad strokes. No way Rust or Marty is the killer.
The whole notion of naturalization is odd. I have heard the theory of earth water air and fire. Just don't think that is it.
ETA: the notion is natural vs supernatural. There is a natural or rational explanation for the events that unfold.

Why do people want to ruin the show for themselves by listening to stuff like that? Even if the spoilers are "small", I don't wanna find out anything before hand. That ruins the whole entire point of watching a tv show like this

I am starting to think this show is going to be like sixth sense. In the end you will be like, I should have seen that coming. NP is dropping clues left and right. I know everybody with a picture of dudes surrounding a girl is in on it. Audrey is in on it. The school is in on it. Just don't know how or why or what.

The more I think about the spiral the more I question the meaning of "True Detective." Who is the true detective? Is it Rust or are we the ones piece milling this show together, breaking down scenes? Rust seems aware of his role as a character. We are the ones he is referring to in the 4th dimension. The spiral represents the layers of the story and deception. The further we go the deeper we fall into the clutches of madness.
