No where near as goos as Carnival was. It is a shame HBO cancelled that series after two years.

Hell I wish HBO would have continued the series Deadwood.

The attempts at accents killed it for me. The star on the brother's chest suggests they live around Rayville/just East of Monroe. They also said they had to take someone to the hospital in Monroe. Half of the accents are just bad redneck accents and the coonass accent was bad as well, although closer in authenticity.

I agree. And the setting definately harks of South Louisiana not Northeast La.

That last season of Deadwood was pretty horrible

It may have been the worst Deadwood season, but to call it horrible is ridiculous. The worst season of Deadwood is easily better than everything on HBO right now.

Minus the atrocious accents, especially the black girl, I thought the show was pretty good. I absolutely love the premise.

I could do without the psychic angle, though.

The black chick sucks, no doubt.

I don't get HBO, but watched it from my hotel a couple nights ago. It was decent, but just decent.

Anna Paquin annoys me for some reason. The premise is kinda cool, but nothing original. The gratuitous MILF nudity was appreciated though.

Also, what's up with Carnivale? I've been wanting to get into a relatively short-lived show, and always see that in Best Buy. Give me the jist on it, someone...

Do it. Carvivale was fricking awesome. It's pretty much an adventure across America during the great depression and it's Good vs Evil and you really have no idea which one is which. It's creepy(very creepy at times) but it's the kind of creepy you will appreciate...............(disclaimer) once you get hooked after season 1, Season 2 will answer a lot of questions but you will wish for a season 3.

There were only 2, correct?

I always got the feeling it was sort of a post-apocalyptic kinda thing...not sure why.

Yeah only 2, which kind of sucks. For some reason you will get the feeling it ended prematurely and hopefully HBO will bring it back now that they have teh suck.

It's one of those things that every generation goes through, "This is the end times" or "this is a sign of the times". But the characters are so fascinating it certainly makes it seem possible that the world should have ended in the 1930's.

I've come to the conclusion that Hollywood doesn't really care about getting accents right. They only care about an accent that goes along with their idea of what we should sound like.

But that's what most of the country thinks we sound like anyway.

That's my point. It's a self fulfilling deal. Hollywood perpetuates these ridiculous accents so the rest of the country believes that's what we sound like, and vice versa.
