What a utter dumpster fire compared to the original Clerks. Not sure if I will go back to try and finish it. I was a big fan of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back.

Finish it. The end puts things in perspective. You'll like the effort better.

Yeah I actually enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. It’s actually sort of sweet. And the nostalgia hits pretty hard.

Anyone else read this in Jeff's voice?

It's awful, and Smith filmed it with the glossiness and convention of a Lifetime movie, mistakenly thinking his raunch indie comedy series held some kind of gravitas. It's amazing how poor his filmmaking intuition is after so many movies. I always compare him with John Waters.

I couldn’t last 20 minutes before turning it off. I was disappointed but knew going in it was going to be dog shite

I enjoyed Clerks II.

But I tried to watch III, and fell asleep about 1/3 of the way in. Trash.

Yeah this is kinda how I felt about it. Went from raunchy fun to something trying to be meaningful. It just made me feel old more than anything.

Isn’t that life though? Don’t people change even if they don’t change profession? Don’t hopes and dreams and their pursuit or lack thereof eat away at people? Impossible to capture the same feeling as the first anyway and that wasn’t the intent of the story. People get old, people get scared, people die.
