So not only are you a single issue voter, but your single issue is “Star Wars supporters upset me”.

Your hyperbolic bullshite about the downfall of the white male via star wars is tired.

Ms. Robinson makes a better argument for people's unhappiness with the movie than many of the fans she criticizes. This stuff won't make me a Trump supporter because of my disgust with the man as a non-serious person who lacks the maturity to be president. But it does probably feed into the culture of divide and hatred of those who see the world differently.

The pig is fed. It is fat and plump. Me tossing it another single grain won't change that.

I hate these people so so so very much. It makes me want to hate TLJ too, even though I actually enjoyed it, just because they tell me it's bad to hate it. I really don't want to be on their side.

The SJW stuff is not what breaks the movie

It’s just icing on the cake

The movie is terrible

Eh, I have no issues with Rey being the "strong female character lead." She does a hell of a job and her Ren's character arc is one of the things Johnson did well.

Like others have posted, Aliens is a great example of how to do a strong female character lead without it being a blatant pandering to "grrl power!"

What fricking disgusted me was Dern's character. No purpose to have her in the movie at all other than to smack down Poe. That REEKED of "take that patriarchy!". And Finn and Rose's arc was just checking the diversity box.

tl;dr - The main plot wasn't SJW-esque at all in my opinion. The B plot? That was a SJW abomination...and I feel a good reason why the two plots were so disjointed.

Without Ridley in the lead role, this movie is one of the worst films ever made

She carried both movies. Both of them suck without her

I guess I'll go see it now

There seems to be so much emotional hyperbole about this film that I can't tell if it's good or bad

My co-worker just told me it was her favorite movie of the year

Plus, Dern's plan was so so so much worse than Poe's. Poe's plan could have saved all of them AND the entire fleet at the cost of only 2 people. Dern's plan would at best just save a fraction of the people. Plus, the two plans didn't have to be mutually exclusive. They could both be run simultaniously allowing Dern's plot to be Plan B.

Dern was holding her cards close to the vest for absolutely no reason. In a movie that repeatedly makes an example of those who rely on their "hubris", what Dern did should have been a cardinal sin. What she did was almost a foil of what Poe had done in the opening battle which resulted in the loss of the bomber fleet. However, Dern was portrayed as a hero, but Poe as impulsive and in needing of a demotion.
