This will be a film that I won't set any expectations for. I just want to appreciate every scene during the first watch and take it all in.

I think that the plot has been kept under secrecy very well, and to expect certain things to happen won't do the film justice. They can go in any direction with the story, and I just want to be along for the ride.

No idea if it will match up to the originals trilogy (and I'm not expecting it to) but it's pretty clear it will be 100x better than the prequels which is all anyone can really ask for.

So Many people will be disappointed -- not because the movie will be bad but because of the absolutely unreal expectations most people have going into it.

nobody wants to see a Star Wars movie about a future female jedi. That is going to suck big time.

I can't go lower than the bottom of the expectation barrel which is where the prequels left me.

This one can't be worse so I'm good.

Star Wars: still prepping for disappointment?

I never was. As soon as I heard they tapped J.J. Abrams to direct I knew it would be at least good. The guy is a Star Wars nerd...he loves the franchise and wants to see it succeed the way fans want to see it succeed.

He'll get this right.

That doesn't mean there won't be bitching, it just means that most of it will be bitching for bitching's sake. This won't be anywhere close to a bad Star Wars movie.

People should learn to just take movies for what they are, instead of having inflated expectations.

The biggest thing this film has going for it is the prequels. No way it can be as bad and looks like it will instead be on the level of the first three. Even if it ends up being average, it will blow the prequels out of the water.

Not a Star Wars fanboy but probably would have given it a look if anyone other than JJ Abrams had been in charge. As it is, I'll take a pass.

I'm so fired up for this movie. Over the next 2 months we will be watching all of the movies as well as the entire Clone Wars series. All three of my children are really getting into Star Wars and it is going to be a great thing for us to share together.

The trailers for the prequels were badass, too. As such, my expectations are still somewhat neutral.

Eh, the "I'm in charge of security m'lady" line was so cringeworthy I knew AOTC would be a mess, and it was.

Was it really that awesome, or was it just NEW star wars ANYTHING flashing in front of you? Maybe a little of both. Imagine if they had taken Jar Jar out...

Hopefully this can be what we hoped for in 1999, but I'm not going to let that sway me at all. At least we know the old gang will be back together this time.

I haven't seen a movie in a theater since episode III. I'm pretty excited to finally break that streak (just bought tickets for a Thursday showing of this).

No, it was really awesome. We didn't know anything about what happened before at least visually and so it gave us so little while giving us a lot. It still tricks me. Watch it. It's a really good trailer.
