The Phantom Menace is the second worst f up by Lucas.
As any real Star Wars nerd knows, his original concept was for RoTJ to have Wookies rather than Ewoks. He replaced Wookies with Ewoks to hook kids.
Imagine RoTJ with Wookies rather than Ewoks and you realize Lucas is an a-hole.

Attack of the Clones is a way bigger frick up than anything else Lucas has done or likely ever will do.

yeah just anyone's heart explode should be no problem; but someone just as powerful in the force as you would be way more difficult. force powers cancel each other out for the most part soooo..... light saber fight. you think when jedis get to a certain level they just put their light saber in the closet?
I agree with you here. I think it's accepted with all the nerds that are big into the Star Wars Universe that if knowledge of the Force is equal, light saber skill usually decides the battle. The only reason they went back to a Force skill battle was because the Emperor got position on Yoda. Also, it is common knowledge in that Universe that Yoda was one of the best with a light saber. How else would you expect a badass, 2 foot, swordsman to fight if not like a squirrel?

The fight scene with Darth Maul at the end of the Phantom Menace was easily the best thing that came out of the prequels. As far as Star Wars fights, tt's surpassed in awesomeness by only one or two fight scenes in the originals.

Oh, if you're pissed about this, just wait until you hear about what was just released on what Lucas was planning on doing. Originally the people who knew what they were doing with the Star Wars franchise were going to kill off Han Solo and give his character some sort of meaning for the rebellion to fight on. Unfortunately for them, frick Face got complete creative rights to Star Wars right before filming started, and he refused to kill Han Solo. Despite literally everyone around him disagreeing with him that it would be a terrible idea not to kill off Han (note: notice none of these people were around for the prequels to suck his cock), he did it anyway, reasoning that it would take profit away from Han Solo merchandise. Thats right. Han Solo didn't die because Lucas was afraid how it would affect the merchandising. This saved him $25,432 total. This makes me loathe the man. I really hope Return of the Jedi is up next on the chopping block for Plinkett's reviews, since it is just as deserving as the prequels of getting a good roasting. I mean outside of the throne room scenes, is there anything good about RotJ?
There's a reason the first two are so great, and they have to do with Lucas having little to no creative control over either film.

But the end of the duel between Palpatine and Yoda was just them using the force between one another. They didn't even have their lightsabers drawn. Both characters should be beyond using lightsabers and should be able to rape anyone who tries to use one against them.
Yoda before the prequels I just imagined that anyone who tried to go against him, he would just use the force to disable them. But instead he hops around like a chimpanzee and does nothing with his lightsaber. In Episode II, why not just have Mace duel Dooku instead of Yoda, and thus raping Yoda's character? Yoda should have been able to floor Dooku without using a lightsaber, but Palpatine is different. People saying "Well since they're equally matched in the force, they of course need to use lightsabers" weren't paying attention to either character during the original trilogy, both of which made clear they were above using a lightsaber, and they weren't paying attention to the end of the duel in Revenge of the Sith. Yoda and Palpatine should have never used one, and its completely blasphemous and insulting to the audience that they did.

No it shouldn't, since Palpatine should be able to curb stomp Yoda from a physical perspective. "Size matters not". I'm sorry Yoda, but when you're dealing with a blade, yes it matters a great deal. If it were just Palpatine and Yoda using Force attacks against one another, then Yoda's point still stands. The fact that Yoda even pulled out a lightsaber nullifies Yoda's point in the original trilogy.

Throwing shite, manipulating the force to destroy their lightsaber, throwing themselves around, force pull and lightning. Both characters are so skilled in these aspects that they should be above lightsabers, especially when they talk down about them in the original trilogy.

Landshark, four post later and I'm not sure if you like the prequals or not.Can you give us an answer already?

I know, but I'm just making a point that lightsabers aren't always needed. Its like saying that disk wars are needed over lightcycle races in TRON.

I hate the first 2, Episode III I sort of like solely because the Emperor is so awesome, and Return of the Jedi I more or less like, but am extremely pissed about how much George fricked it up. However the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back are masterpieces. These are films that almost every scene can be used as an example of great film making. Aside from the Throne Room scenes, none of the other films can be used in this way, and can usually be used in quite the opposite manner.
