Thanks for the list.
One of the GOAT trailers though the movie doesn't quite match the tone

13. The Ritual (Netflix)
Was 2017, FYI.
Great movie though.
I haven't watched as many movies as I normally like to, so I haven't seen many on this list at all. Checking out the trailers for some of them now though, and may be watching, purchasing, streaming, etc..

I haven't seen all of those, but props for including Overlord. That was one of the year's most underrated movies.

Ending it should have had: seance was occurring the entire time in the tree house by new family (whom we saw as the support group in the movie) that had moved in. This seance was slowly expelling the family we followed in the movie (who were really dead)
That plot twist was great in "The Others" but I don't think it would've worked here. It did require quite a bit of suspension of disbelief to accept that the cult was somehow able to orchestrate their elaborate plan to bring Paimon into the world. That said, it was actually what made the story even more horrifying for me. The fact that Ellen set into motion events which would result in the death of her grandchildren, and did so willingly. Charlie had to die for the plan to work. I knew some bad shite was about to go down when Annie opened the letter from her mother that stated all of the terrible suffering she was about to endure would be worth it in the end.

I'm gonna use the rest of your list as a viewing guide.
Hope you enjoy.
Also, I rented Hell Fest last night and it was really good. Awesome set design and a cool, new serial killer. Hope they turn it into a franchise.
Hell Fest would have made the top 15 had I watched it in time.

Damn, good catch. Don’t know why I thought it was this year. Time flies.
I replaced it with Hell Fest, which I watched last night and really loved.

Overlord was so much fun. Like World War 2 meets Resident Evil.
