Simpsons

I have been watching, and enjoying the Simpsons for 20 years and counting, so I guess this is my way of paying it homage.

as do I

I must admitt DVR helps keep me up to date

they aren't as consistant as they used to be back when they owned all sitcoms on tv from 1998-2005.

but they have been writng new episodes for 21 years and have still managed to put out a quality series year in year out.

12. Simpsons vs 2. Arrested Development vs 5. Seinfeld

As much as I love both AD (bigtime, I proclaim it often around here) and Seinfeld, I have to go with the one that has pretty much defined American television for two decades. Is it as funny now as back in seasons 6-8? No. But that doesn't take away from its impact.

I'll put the Simpsons at its peak (Conan O'Brien years) up against AD and feel like at worst I am losing very little. Any difference in peaks is more than made up by the vast difference in breadth of works. Seinfeld isn't even in the conversation for me with these other two in the mix. At its peak it was nowhere near as good as AD and its body of work can't even hold a candle to The Simpsons.

The Simpsons is my vote and I don't think it really is very close at all.

Good way to put it, I'd agree with this.

Wow. Some serious love for the Simpsons going on. AD and Sein have some serious ground to make up.

i just love how they implement old/new movies into their own show. i remember one episode recently when they had the "Up" house flying in the background. It's stuff like that, that makes it funny to me.

ETA:

I understand that it is your opinion that AD is better than Seinfeld and I'm cool with that. But to say that Seinfeld at it's peak is nowhere near AD is just ridiculous hyperbole.

The AD fanboyism on this site always amazes me and makes me laugh.
