Are you saying Gus Fring is dead?

Umm, no.

The post was pretty clear. Lalo isn't looking for a green light from the cartel to kill Gus. He's planning on doing that regardless. Notice Gus seems to share that opinion.

Hector said he needs proof first, though. Not for permission but for an explanation.

What he needs is a retroactive explanation if he succeeds in that.

He can prove that Gus is trying to cut out the cartel, and get the green light to kill him.

The lab or the Madrigal partnership
proves Gus is making a move against them.

I thought we already had an episode where lalo knew about the underground thing and Gus said it was for his chicken business.. Maybe I'm thinking of s BB episode. I recently did a rewatch of of both and get them severely confused..

if it helps, lalo is only in BCS so anything you remember with him in it it wasn't from BB ha.

And you're right, that was towards the end of last season of BCS. Lalo is hot on the trail of werner and knows who mike is and is trying to find out what the germans were building. Mike and Gus realize that he's on the scent so they basically invite him to come see for himself. There is a massive industrial looking chicken plant thing under construction that gus tells lalo is waht they were building. But this wasn't the underground meth lab we eventually know. And lalo remains suspicious that this was the "real" project.

I don't think Lalo's "investigation" is going to center around Superlab.

Going to Germany doesn't make sense because the Germans don't know anything.

And from Breaking Bad, we know that Gus can buy from local suppliers when necessary and even when the lab was fully operational and the cartel was aware of it, Eladio was content to slap Gus' wrist over it so even if Lalo were somehow able to fit everything together from south of the border, that's not a death sentence.

Seems Lalo needs proof that Gus ordered the hit against him. Even if Eladio didn't do anything himself, he can't bitch about the Salamancas killing Gus at that point.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Now who can confirm that?

If lalo finds Werner Ziegler’s coworkers and crew, they are going to say they were working in super secrecy on an underground structure. And were bussed from a secret facility not allowed to be aware of where they were working or why they were building it.

Proving gus lied to him about it being construction of something for the chicken franchise.

Not sure. Hector could pass along what Nacho told everyone and try that route or he can try to trace the assassins back to whatever group they came from.

It seems like any proof would be more circumstantial than ironclad but he's not interested in trying Gus in an American court of law so "circumstantial" may be good enough.

It’s all for the money. Kim wants to do nothing but pro bono work, she’s obsessed with it, and the only way is to that settlement money from “greedy” lawyers like Hamlin

I love the writing on Kim's journey. Kim is like Schrödinger's cat, except instead of being both dead and alive, Kim is explicitly both good and bad.

And speaking of Schrödinger's cat, Gilligan had quite a dilemma plotting out her end. On one hand, the most logical conclusion to her not being in BB is that she's dead, but she's such a popular character I think he had to find a way to keep her alive (and somehow part of the story).

Given the (IMO) overly sentimental ending to Walter White's story, my predicted end to the BCS story goes like this:

1. Kim does indeed inquire about a new dust filter for her Hoover Max Extract Pressure Pro Model 60.
2. The last episode of BCS is about post-BB Gene.
3. By some Gilligan-designed miracle, the former Jimmy and former Kim find each other again.

J+K=S is ridiculous, so this is the way to give fans the ending they want.

But they never met Gus (could be wrong on that one but I think only Werner ever did) or knew what city they were in.

Sure, Kai can say that he got his arse whipped by some bald, craggy looking old guy and Lalo could think to himself that sounds a lot like Mike but that's still not much.

I got the feeling that Jimmy and Kim’s bedroom celebration scene was their high water mark. Jimmy said something to the effect that it felt so good because they succeeded. Welp I’m not so sure that things continue that way.

Finally finished my rewatch of the series this morning, so over the next few days I plan on catching up with the three new episodes (and now this fourth one as well) and joining in with the threads.

It's been a huge enjoyment rewatching the series...it is just plain excellent.
I watched the entirety of Season 5 on Netflix without realizing it wasn't the new season. I'd say I got over my skiis with the cocktails when it aired because I didn't remember much of it. Season 6 is fine but season 5 was white hot fire.
