Apparently they were willing to reduce his episodes so that he could pursue individual projects as he had expressed (like his stand-up) and instead he told them he was just done all together.

This entire story just hits the biggest Hollywood pet peeve and it's really come from listening to nerdiest. I am sick of hearing how busy all these people are, I get it you work a lot so do the rest of us.

I'm not a huge TJ Miller fan (although he's great in SV), but I took this as him just fricking with his friends and being almost totally in jest. He doesn't strike me as a super serious dude.

And he will always be the son on Carpoolers to me.

He also admits they were willing to move around production and be pretty damn accommodating. It just seems shitty to not throw in for a handful of episodes when the show is what has pushed his fame into the mainstream.

It's his ego. He told us he didn't want to be known as a TV actor but a stand up

RE: his stand up?

Does he have a great album yet? He seems to be popular among comics and the people who loved workaholics for his Ehrlich character. But I haven't seen him do something memorable outside of SV

Isnt this the guy who tried to beat up an Uber driver for wearing a Trump shirt?

Yeah, he's pretty insufferable from what I hear. He assaulted his Uber driver for being a Trump voter. He is totally up his own arse and thinks he's God's gift to humanity.

So he essentially plays himself on Silicon Valley?

i heard his interview on jim and sam show.

he didn't come of douchy as far as reasons for leaving. more that he wants to come back to NYC and be there with his wife and do the comedy clubs.

that being said... he's very self unaware. he didn't think the trump uber driver was a big thing and was really crushed when he went over to ireland and did a show and bashed trump and american politics and it didn't go well.

the guy can make me laugh in the right roles, but he's a poor man's seth rogan. that's his ceiling.

TJ sounds very self-absorbed; glad I didn't watch his stand-up after people said it wasn't funny.

FWIW a lot of people like him in Hollywood think it's perfectly fine to beat up, threaten, and harass people because of their political views (I'm Libertarian). Gotta love the Hollywood Left!

It's just such a bad move to bad mouth people on the show you just left. You never look good doing that. He sounds like an ungrateful douche.

He's not dissimilar from the character he plays, just more exaggerated on show.

His HBO standup was pretty terrible. I really wanted to like it, but I don't think I laughed once.

I went in really excited, and turned it off after 15 minutes. Some much cringing.

The article has spoilers from tonight's eps if you haven't watched it but this post doesn't spoil it.

So does the thread title......

Quit a show and burn every bridge on your way out. Solid plan.

It has been publicly announced that he is leaving the show for at least the past month. Real life events aren't spoilers. How his character leaves the show is.

Well it still sucks to have the fact that he's leaving spoiled by the thread title.

A simple "TJ Miller interview (spoilers)" would have sufficed
