so who fricked up last night, was it deniro, robin willimas, or keenan on what's up with that? that was pretty weird if anyone saw that.

I don't remember what you're talking about, but it was probably DeNiro. It seemed like he just said "frick it, I'm Bob DeNiro, just give me the scripts and I'll nail the lines on Saturday night. Now I'm gonna spend the rest of the week promoting what is sure to be an abortion of a movie."

I'm lucky if I find two most of the time. Their best skits have been the one with the new black guy and the one with Bill Hader doing the retro 1950s Halloween party.

But once again, I know the genre of the old 1950-1960 horror movies and the "guests" that showed up....I doubt 1/20 people nowadays get that. I know who Liverachi was and thought it was hilarious. Clearly best recurring holiday skit they have.

I'm just tired of people making excuses. The cast isn't horrible, the writing is horrible. The guests aren't used right. It's just bad.

when they were doing the what's up with that skit, keenan asked deniro a question and the music started playing while deniro was trying to answer it. at first he was saying how rude it was, which i assumed was part of the skit, then there was about a 9-10 second part where nobody said anything and keenan and deniro were just looking at each other awkwardly. then keenan sang "uncomfortable silence" which was funny. deniro looked to me as if he was actually kinda pissed off. then at the end of the skit, when keenan was thanking his guests, he said deniro's name, and bob said "You messed up" all deniro-ey

I think alot of times they just don't pick very good guests.

Taylor Swift: excellent choice. She was really really funny.

That guy from malcolm in the middle hilarious.

But most this year have been forgettable and just aren't very funny.

The only thing I find funny again is the retro BET. Chances are anybody under 30 actually knows Lindsey Buckingham? Still say the best part is the white guy with Gerry curl doing the running man in the track suit. That was classic 80s black television.

yea this is easily the funniest part of the skit. and everytime they start up the music again he literally hops back into the screen.

one of the most badass fingerstyle guitarists behind Chet Atkins and then Mark Knopfler.

Anybody notice that Keenan says "What's up with that?" now instead of "WHAT up with that?"

Call me crazy... but that little "'s" really screws with the song. Not as funny.

it was pretty bad, but i think kristin wiig and andy samberg are the two best things to happen to the show, and i still like weekend updates, they're always consistent except for the guests.

I haven't watched SNL in nearly 10 years, and it used to be a mainstay in my household. After the 90's heyday with Farley, Sandler, and the bunch it has just gotten terrible.

I don't think the problem is the writing, I think the problem is the cast. They just are not funny. Funny people don't need a good skit to be funny. There were plenty terrible skits back in the day, but the cast was so funny you couldn't help but laugh.

the early to mid 90s were not that great.... you are just over-nostalgic, it had a strong cast and some good skits but it also had alot of flops... it didnt help that everyone on set was on the fast track to become a star... having so many "stars" made it hard to distribute the work load IMO. It was almost like there were a few different Cliques that were too busy fighting on who got the most screen time and not worrying enough about how much "potential" there actually was.

we focus too much on the big names rather than the quality
at one point you had

carvey
myers
sandler
spade
schneider
mcdonald
farley

late 90s early 00s were better.

Farell

95-2000 best cast. since some of the first casts.

I disagree, early 90's was the best IMO. Late 90's was still funny. Everything this decade has been terrible.
