Three's Company - the show origins, history, and back stories, of actors and why they left the show LINK

also the question, which landlord do you think was the best, don knots (mr firley) or norman fell (mr roper)?

+1

They were good enough to get their own show (it failed, but still... there was never a "Mr. Furley's Place" show). Furley was good, but the balance of Helen against Stanley's antagonism (and his sarcasm) was never fully replaced by Furley alone.

The Ropers as a pair we my favorites, but I also loved Furley.

I like the episode where there's a complete misunderstanding.

Always thought Joyce DeWitt had the hotter body, but they always covered her up.

for me as well, i always prefer brunettes to ditsy blondes. i think it was mostly the hair, back then the short hair was not the norm and big bushy hair was all the rage.

her tomboy short hair watered down her sexy appeal and the writers wouldnt ever let her elude to anything about sex or even suggest it.

they also had terrible wardrobe for her to wear most of the time. i think the few shows finally focusing on showing off her arse was when they ran out of blondes and it was just her and ripper for half a season while looking for another blonde to fill the spot of the hot roommate.

the same opinion for me as well

you cant not like don knots, but the furleys were comedy gold as a set and made the show great

i never even knew it was an english show they ripped off and just copied it almost exactly the same

To an extent but they definitely made an effort to showcase her arse in a few episodes.

The Ropers for sure. Stanley cracking on Helen and then mugging to the camera was funny as hell.

Roper, not even close.

She was a replacement, but was the best looking roommate Jack had:

Man, the Ropers were funny, but give me Don Knots’ Mr. Furley—I love his character. Speaking of characters, Jack Tripper may be the best sitcom character of all-time. John Ritter was sooooo talented. Gone way too soon.

The show was better and fresher with the Ropers, But Furley definitely had his moments.
