If you took the first 30-50 episodes of GOT it is the GOAT show ever. However, because it was so successful and got 50 more episodes it was penalized.
Freaks and Geeks was good but would it have been good for 5 more years?

You're right, it is much harder to do a show good for eight seasons than it is one, but the rankings of those two shows is one of the few things that list got right.
Game of Thrones had the benefit of being great for 5 seasons because it was based off some of the best fantasy books ever written. Game of Thrones could have very well been left off the list given how the terrible ending ruins pretty much all of the great that happened up to it.
Freaks and Geeks had 18 incredible original episodes. How good were the 23 episodes that Dumb and Dumber did with no source?
