TS4 was really good in its own right, but it should've been a spinoff of sorts since TS3 was so perfect. It's much better than people give it credit for though.

Preach. It wasn’t bad at all. But 3 ended perfectly.

3 had a good ending but if the toys somehow end up with sayAndy’s kids at the end of Toy Story 5 I think that would be the perfect ending.

Toy Story 3 is way too oriented to my generation (I was 5 when the original came out) that it lacks a little bit as a children’s movie.

I have a very special feeling for the first Toy Story movie.

I went to the theater to see it a week before Christmas, 1995. My Grandfather (with whom I was very close) had died after a brief battle with cancer about two weeks before. It sent me into a very real depression.

I walked out of that theater having actually belly-laughed for the first time since well before he died. It made things a little brighter for me. Since then, it’s always held a special place in my heart.

Out all last week with Covid so I did a lot of TV watching. Re-watched 1-4 because of this thread. It had been forever.

I ranked them earlier 1, 3, 2, 4 and after a re-watch I think it's still the same.

Not even counting sentimental value, I think 1 is still the gold standard for animated movies, and bonus points for just how ground breaking it was. Made me laugh more than I remember as well.

3 is just an incredible movie all the way around, like best picture quality, but really isn't that much of a kids movie. I'm not knocking it for that but that's just another reason I still have 1 over it. The emotional/perfect ending puts it above 2 for me.

2 was much better than I remember. I haven't watched it as many times as 1 and 3 so I had forgotten quite a bit of it. I could see how someone could even have this as their favorite of the bunch.

4 is very underrated. Easily the funniest of the 4 and probably visually the best animated movie ever. It's hard to watch this and just not be struck with how good this movie looks. I think they should have stopped at 3, but Hollywood can never leave well enough alone, but they did it justice and was about as good of an ending as you could ask for for a movie that wasn't even needed.

it's pretty incredible how they killed it every movie with the "villains" too. Man I love these movies.

Every time. I was a similar age to Andy and it's like I grew up with these films and the ending was actually pretty relatable.
