Things could be made today, it's just that it wouldn't hold a cultural impact or be as relevant.

It's all about cultural acceptance, "All in the Family" could get made but people wouldn't watch it as much.

It's so hard to compare popularity of shows now to back then. When "All in the Family" was on, the average household likely only had 3-4 channels, so they were only competing with 2-3 other shows.

But I agree, there's nothing stopping anyone from making another All in the Family or Blazing Saddles or Airplane!, but it would likely be hard to make money off of it.

The flaming arrow at the end was a nice touch.

Eh, I think a non PC show would do very well today.

Yellowstone is basically a piece of shite but it isn't to the left and is popular as hell.

Lord of the rings trilogy. The casting was also damn near perfect and couldn't be replicated.

Casting “diversity” quotas, which some here strangely insist don’t exist, ruin any chance for future faithful adaptations.

i remember when dangerfield argues with jackee harry about blacks vs whites in sports. ? people would be terrified to utter that shite out loud today

I think the pedophile scene in the girls dressing room trumps that!
