The Wild Robot & Transformers One might be the best movies of this year

I know this is late on both movies but I’ve watched both today and holy moly it’s insane how these two animated movies are clear of a lot of other live action movies in story telling

Watched wild robot with the kids and I couldn’t follow the plot. Seemed pretty disjointed .. but was visually pretty nice

The A-Atron joke in Transformers One was probably the hardest I’ve laughed at a movie this year.

RE: The Wild Robot
There's a sort of strange tendency to humanize robots in a couple of recent movies that I don't particularly care for.
Although writers have imagined artificial intelligence with some human characteristics for decades, the assumption of heroic behaviors from AI strikes me as very irrational. More likely the behavior and ethics would be very different from our preferences (Such as HAL from 2001 or Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner).
The belief in some sort of artificial humanity with a utopian belief system emerging from AI is a dangerous misconception IMO. The ethics installed are a frame but the learning on top is fairly unpredictable and the danger to people and environment are central features.
