What about Mexicans?
Here's my reasoning. There's going to be a lot of grueling, back-breaking labor, not to mention dangerous work in the post-apocolyptic world. I don't really wanna take that chance myself, so why not load up a truck load of Mexicans while I'm in Houston. Not to mention I like the senioritas.

I was thinking along those lines..But trying to make it to NOLA and board a cruise ship. You would think it would already have food and booze..Really all I need is booze. So yeah. A cruise ship. That's the route I'm going.

Too big... a better choice would be finding a luxury yacht. Those are probably stocked with the expensive booze. Of course it will need to be outfitted with weapons.

with that kind of maneuverability you could essentially ride the Gulf Coast line and scavenge every port you ran across that looked semi-safe. probably your best chance to find other survivors as well.
