Any guesses on what Darryl did before the outbreak? That kid trying to guess got me thinking. Or have they told us in previous season and I forgot? (He's not in the comics from what I understand so I'm not trying to bring up any spoilers or anything)

Darryl worked in the yard at a concrete business. Or possibly on a road crew for DMV or contractor. He was definitely outside.

Merle clearly cooked meth in the LP with his biker gang. Maybe Daryl was involved.

no, I think it has something to do with the pig being sick as well.

They did. Go rewatch the episode.

I dont think they did. They put up spikes just around the new makeshift gate. I'm talking entire perimeter of the fence.

Were we supposed to infer that the animal on the ground in the woods when Rick met the crazy woman is also "sick" like the pig and Phineas who died in the shower?

I don't think so, but there could certainly be something going on with the animals. Pretty sure that was just a reason for Rick to meet up with the crazy lady.

ETA: Anybody have a theory on who is trying to attract walkers to the fences? Governor spy?

I think all of the animal deaths are connected somehow and maybe nerdy boy's death as well. But both animals that died were pigs and the horse seemed fine.

Pigs and humans are actually very similar.

quote:

"For many years the pig has been one of the best models for human physiology and has been used extensively because of that," Blecha said. "While this is a blueprint for the health of the pig, it is also a blueprint for the expression of genes and how to modify them for perhaps better animal models and improved health across all species. This moves agricultural and biomedical science forward for the good of everyone."

I think the pig in the woods was caught in one of the group's traps. I don't think that one was suffering from an illness like Violet.

Maybe, but I don't think so. First, the traps were snares, so the thing would have been roped, which it wasn't. Second, it was too close to the other snare that had the decapitated deer head. Third, it was still moaning weakly. If it was snared and not sick, it would have been fighting if alive, especially when home girl started tugging on it. Finally, if it had been snared, it probably would have met with the same fate as the deer.

The pig being sick situation kind of annoyed me. Rick and Carl are standing there talking about how to pig is sick and they aren't sure what is wrong with it. Hershel is a veterinarian who lived on a rural farm pre-apocolypse. He probably had more vet experience with livestock than he did with pets. Just fricking ask him to check it out.

Great point...I forgot he was a vet.
