I'm pretty sure he was also the Worship Leader at the church we go to in Pearland until last year.

Probably so. He was who practically started the youth group band at the church I went to growing up (First Baptist Pasadena) back in like 2005ish. He also used to give guitar lessens to a ton of people at our church. Since then he has pretty much made a career playing at Houston area churches. I know he's played at a bunch of churches youth camps and stuff like that.
He's a really good guy and I hope he does well.

He's a good guy, but he's no Josh Innes.

Who is this Farrell guy and what's he famous for? Seems like he gets alot of the younger talent but I've never heard of him before.

Have you heard this song?

Nope never heard of him before. I haven't watched The Voice in a few years. I have heard the song you just posted, didn't realize that was him. Seems like a cool dude.

99% sure I saw the contestant from Denham Springs, Tyler, out tailgating today.
He was dressed like a country star, but no purple and gold.

Decent show last night. I ff'd so it went quickly. No one blew me away, but things change once they get a little coaching. Looks like some interesting battle rounds to come.
I've wondered why some of the folks who've had great battle rounds, but end up going home, eventually, haven't gotten together post show. Sometimes, the battle rounds can be better for some of them than their solos. Not a lot, but there have been a few good ones.

Watched the first battle rounds last night. Remembered why I gave up on this show for a few seasons. Two hours of TV and you only show 6 battles? Plus the battles almost always suck, forcing two people to duet on songs that mostly aren't meant to be duets.
Jordan was a no-brainer pick. Then Gwen wasted a steal on the big black lady. She can sing, but powerful black women never seem to win. Just not the right style for this show.
The two guys singing "I'm Going To Be Somebody" was a great example of a terrible battle. It's not a duet, their voices weren't similar... blah. Blake made the right choice I think, it sucks to see the Louisiana guy go, but the other dude has a better chance at going far.
Ellie was a good pick, surprised that Pharrell wasted a steal on Tim, but I guess he sees something.
Mark was a good pick as well, although I think the girl had the better voice, Mark is a better entertainer.
The "Fortunate Son" battle was terrible and I don't think either of those guys had much of a chance to win, so it was a waste by Adam. Good to see the Louisiana guy advance I guess, but he seems like a douche.
I don't think I've ever heard "Walking In Memphis" on a singing show that didn't sound like karaoke. Both guys did a good job, and I think Blake made the right choice.. a little surprised that Dustin was stolen, considering that was the third steal out of the first 6 match-ups, but I think he's the best of the three that were stolen.
Regardless, there will be better steal opportunities to come.

I think if the coach does his job, Jordan Smith has incredible potential. His range and control was impressive as hell, but his performance was so technical and choir-esque.
If someone can get the guy to push things a bit and open things up, he could be nuts.

I never got why they do this instead of just having 2 rounds of knockouts. Duets suck when the songs aren't meant for it and the voices aren't even remotely similar.
Tim and Regina were wasted steals that will just serve as fodder on their respective teams. I can see Dustin possibly going to lives with Adam.

My wife and I still watch the show. But she gets mad when I tell her it ought to be renamed "The Voice for someone under the age of 25 that we can exploit with a shitty contract."
You just know the 40 somethings on here - no matter how much more talented or a better singer - have no shot. If I were in Vegas I'd bet on the younger singer on every head to head and would make bank.
Look at last season where the kid with the Cousin Itt hair won. He was tough to listen to.

The first two Voice winners were older, in their 30s at least.

Watched part of last night's. I'm just not big on the Battles. Or at least the selections for them. Mark and Celeste were fun to watch. But I'm just kind of meh on most of them.

I ff'd a lot. That made watching the show much less painful. The ads are ridiculous as always. I think I ff'd 50% of the time.
I agree with most everything you said. I enjoyed "Memphis" the best of all the duets. I agree that giving songs that aren't meant to be duets rarely works very well. I love a good duet, but not a forced one.
3 steals at this stage was pretty stunning. I think a few of them are going to be sorry.

Something went wrong while mine was taping. I didn't get to see the last round which looked like it was probably the good one for the night. I'll have to catch it On Demand I guess.
I'll be glad when Battle Rounds are over.

I'm still watching, but I usually like the blinds better than the actual competition.
Gris, I didn't think the last battle round was particularly great, although I agree with the choice made.
