Paramount+.

They had 10 hours of uncensored potential at their fingertips and they put together a worthless piece of shite.

Zero character development. Cartoon characters that don't resemble anyone from the book. Just terrible.

Well, the book was crap, so there’s that.

1994 version was comical and bad as well.

Starts off a little fun with the post apocalyptic usual wandering etc, then dives into the toilet with a “great devil man” in the end. The preview of the new series didn’t interest me in the least. Garbage.

M-o-o-n. That spells moon. I assume the new version dialed Cullen down to zero or did they straight remove him?

The Stand and IT are both still waiting for an actual, proper book to screen treatment. the 90s miniseries for both are pretty serviceable given the technology and budget constraints they were under. the big screen It was ok, but still failed to capture the spirit of the novel in my opinion.

both properties need a nice 10-12 episode one-and-done season long series to properly tell the story and capture the correct vibe/spirit of the source material. same for the Gunslinger, although I care less about it.

94 was cheesy TV but Tim Curry was good. People remember Curry being creepy especially for network TV but they forget the rest of the mini-series was weak. In comparison to The Langoliers it was a masterpiece.

Look at the cast for the 1994 Version:

Gary Sinise
Ed Harris

Rob Lowe
Laura San Giacomo
Jamie Sheeridan
Matt Frewer
Ossie Davis
Kathy Bates

There were even more that I can't think of...but that alone is a kick-arse cast.

Like most King books the ending is pretty much a wet fart but the character building is sublime

Stu Redman and Tom Cullen’s return story still makes me happy

When Tom opens the gifts Stu saved for him…that gets me everytime
