You need to spoiler tag that subject line.

It was pretty obvious it was a man the whole time, but I called it early in the film who Taskmaster was going to be. They telegraphed it from the start. Least shocking development of the entire film.

It's not a 'trigger' to point out the facts, is it?

You knew the the very beginning of the movie that his daughter was Taskmaster? Really?

The movie is a quarter of the way done before they ever even mention Dreykov had a daughter.

AU,

Spoiler Alert

There were 2 scenes when Taskmaster didn’t have her helmet on.

1st in the red room before it crashes.

2nd after the red room crashes.

Well, I watched the "Marvel Legends" Black Widow recap on Disney+ that was released a few days before the movie, and they made a special effort to play up her interaction with Loki in Avengers 1 when he was in a holding cell in the Helicarrier and specifically mentioned "Dreykov's daughter." They played that entire scene in her Legends short, which was odd because the Legends shorts don't usually have entire scenes like that. It also stuck out to me because I didn't remember that specific line. Once they started mentioning Dreykov in the movie I was pretty sure Taskmaster was going to be his daughter.

I didn't see it, so ya got me there.

But those 2 scenes... both occur at the end of the movie ?

Point is, effectively every scene is the stunt double, until those scenes.

It's kinda like claiming Brie Larson did all her stunts for Captain Marvel. But worse.

Ahh I see. That makes much more sense b/c otherwise I don't how anyone could guess that right off the bat. I think it was somewhere around when he started going on and on about his daughter in a way where he didn't actually seem nearly as upset as he should have been that it clicked for me. Kind of crazy how they based that whole plot line off a throwaway line from a movie that came out all the way back in 2012.

But Loki, talking to Natasha, mentioned ' Dreykovs daughter ' in The Avengers, no ?

I just assumed SHE was Dreykovs daughter, and by uttering his name, Loki knew - from Barton - Natasha's true identity and background.

Yes but who the hell is going to remember that line going into Black Widow unless they recently watched Avengers or the Legends thing on D+ that FatKid is talking about?

AU,

I don’t see how its worse or better or good or bad. It’s a stunt performer.

I believe the stunt actor was given a credit in the opening roll & I don’t believe the actress in the those 2 scenes was. Whatever you attach to it after that is on you.

I've seen The Avengers and that scene enough times to remember the name Dreykov. I had assumed at the time that Loki was talking about HER, and that she was Dreykov's daughter. Or possibly something which had involved someone named Dreykov, and his daughter... Joss Whedon directed that movie, and he's got a history of putting out little bread crumbs in monologues , short lines and off hand comments which either pay off down the line or are a reference to something in the past.

Apparently not, as other fans thought enough of it to point it out and make multiple videos on the topic.

I think it's embarrassingly funny that they can't even find a proper stunt "person" to showcase the character.

But white knight to your heart's content.

I did, only cause it was a weird moment that never got resolution. Figured we'd hear something about it in her standalone biopic.

Didn't figure they'd harp on it though

Yeah it just really stuck out like a sore thumb that they put basically that entire interaction in her Legends recap. Made it too obvious that something Loki said there was going to be explored in this movie.

Au,

It’s on them too. In 2021 i don’t give the # of videos on a subject any serious weight. I also think it’s ok to disagree on the role of Taskmaster in the Black Widow marvel movie.
