I think people who feel this way are in the minority. I personally could care less what someone's sexual preference/identity is especially in a movie/show.
Totally agree, but we only have such choices because we are a Christian nation. Christianity teaches that these are choices we are free to make. Unfortunately, there are a great number of morons in our nation who demonize the very thing that gives them the freedom to make such choices. Many of those morons are in Hollywood making movies/TV.

The issue as of late it seems to be the theme to inundate audiences with pushing an agenda to follow the cultural shift post covid-19 where the industry looks to capitalize monetarily in a way to take advantage of current social issues without doing it for anything other than money. The industry can pretend to champion any cause, but it is obvious they are only doing it for the money and once the issue fades from the forefront so will their attempts to take advantage of it.
The danger they face is that they are simultaneously championing the perverse while also attempting to subvert the Christian worldview. These goals are incompatible. If they are successful, any other worldview overtakes Christianity and their perversion is dealt with exactly how those worldviews handle such things. You can look around the world and easily figure that part out.
This is the "suicidal empathy" conservatives talk about regularly. They are harming their own causes by raging against the very worldview that tolerates their ability to champion them.

So now you've resorted to comparing humans to animals.
This is when you should have realized you have truly lost the argument. At this point, it clearly isn't worth my time to discuss this further with you. When you come up with an actual point, I'll respond.

We are animals....
Kingdom Animalia: Humans obtain food, move, and lack cell walls, fitting the criteria for animals.
Phylum Chordata: We have a backbone (vertebrae).
Class Mammalia: We have hair, produce milk, and are warm-blooded.
Order Primates: We have forward-facing eyes, grasping hands, and large brains.

Maybe by scientific definition. The large difference is we have souls. We are not the same.
When you resorted to that as your only recourse, it should have been your clue that you are out of your league in this discussion. Since you clearly are incapable of this realization, I'll leave you to it.

Why don't you think animals have souls?

Wow. I apologize. I should not have assumed you knew what you were talking about. This was not a discussion it was fair for me to participate in. Good luck to you, sir.

You've made that painfully obvious with your inability to back up anything you say with hard evidence.

Hate to break it to you but there’s no agenda, dude. Movies are just movies. Gay people exist in the world so they will exist in movies as well.

Reimagination Tomorrow-50% of regular and recurring characters across Disney scripted content will come from underrepresented groups.
or
Kathleen Kennedy with the Force is Female.
So yes, there is and has been an agenda for a while now.
Again, the issue is not casting people based on their ethnicity or sexual orientation it has to do with just casting a person to fill a quota. As long as they can act, I could care less what they do on their time or who they are off the screen. But over the last five years to many times the role is filled with bad actor to pander to certain audiences.
In regard to lifestyle choices on the screen I have no issue with it as long as it fits the script and makes sense. But as of late it seems it is overkill by Hollywood to force an agenda just to attract specific crowds for more money.
But yes, movies should just be movies

Absolutely asinine responses.
You know every time I put on an old film, and there's like a random priest, or the characters go to a church, or there's some appeal to Christianity.
Someone mentions God positively, or as a being who they believe in, etc. etc. It's usually presented at just "part of the environment," part of thew fabric of being human.
Even if more lewd films or action films. Or someone even just MENTIONS going to mass. It's frequent it's all over the place. Even when someone doesn't feel like a "Christian" character, they might go to a church or talk to a priest. It's just.... there.
But it's always incredibly strange how you watch a modern Hollywood films, and there are no Christians. No one mentions God. Priests are absent unless it's explicitly a wedding movie. There are no Churches, or it's always non-denominational, etc. You'd think Christians and belief in God were non-existent.
If this was a question of "they exist, they are normal, they should be represented," then every single show, much like they do with homosexuality, should always have at least ONE practicing Christian who takes God and the faith seriously. And they should paint Christians in a positive light who contribute and who's belief in God is real and meaningful.
But does that happen? No. Because - guess what - it's not about "representation," never was.. (That and the poster earlier was right - why pay for Netflix to openly mock and minimize you, not sure.)
Now, I fully admit this shouldn't be a "Christians" vs. Homosexuality thing - but how in the heck does it get framed that way? It's fairly obvious, why and how.
