Looks like we're sticking to the big-screen but Lonesome Dove still deserves some mention.

My favorite movie of all time. I can watch it every time it comes on. And I pretty much can recite the dialogue while I am watching it.

Oh, and the way he told the bounty hunter "Dyin' ain't much of a livin' boy.", has to be one of the toughest lines ever.

You can just hear Clint's voice when you read the quote.

It's hard to believe, but in 1976, this movie was one of the first to present Native American characters in a positive light.

The movie has depth if you want to look for it. Outlaw Josey Wales has a very strong theme about tolerance running through it. It's really a great movie about acceptance of things that divide us.

Tragic, but true. though Little Big Man came out in 1970, also staring Chief Dan George.

Ironic that this movie stands for tolerence given that it perpetuates the myth of Reconstruction. But it really is a movie about forgiveness and putting aside prejudice. It's one of my favorites, regardless of genre.

Josey Wales is in my top 10, but #1 would go to Rio Bravo, Shane, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Once Upon A Time In The West, or No Name on The Bullet.

Totally agree... Westerns are my thing.. Also we haven't mentioned that needs a shout-out is;

The Tin Star (in my top 5)
The Ox-bow Incident (Henry is the man)
One-eyed Jacks (often overlooked, but damn good)
El Dorado (Robert Mitchum is one of my fave actors
The Bravados
Stagecoach (John Ford rules)

I've heard this is good but I guess I've never seen it. I'm gonna have to look for it on Netflix. It was Sergio Leone, right?

And yeah, they should have found somebody hotter than Sondra Locke.

I always thought she was kind of a plain Jane, not ugly, just kind of plain, but she was Clint Eastwood's squeeze during that period of his films, so she had a major role in all of them.

The opening scene of Once Upon a Time In the West is such a beautiful scene. So good. And Cladia Cardinale might be one of the hottest women ever in that movie (though she was probably hotter in 8 1/2).

Some that I'd put at the top...

Josey Wales
OUATITW
Wild Bunch... Which I could argue is the reason we see bloody movies today. This movie changed the genre. You realize it's no John Wayne movie from the very first scene.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Searchers
My Darling Clementime
The Assasination of Jessie James By the Coward Robert Ford
The Magnificent Seven
Lonsome Dove
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Tombstone
High Noon
The Bravados... Some might not think this is an all time great but I just really like Gregory Peck.
Ive started to not like Unforgiven as much as I used too.

Claudia Cardinale then.

You don't want to see a picture of her now.

Listing all these westerns is going to make me cancel all plans next time a marathon is on.

A movie that is forgotten a lot as a good watch is "The Shootist." It's definitely not the best western but John Wayne playing a dying man while being a dying man and settling all his scores with Jimmy Stewart being the doctor is something that keeps me interested in that movie.
